Tile Product Information
Our handcrafted relief tiles have a glossy transparent crackle finish. The gloss is made with each school’s specific color. The tile and logo size are consistent, but because of the handcrafted quality the color tone varies slightly. This makes each tile unique in it’s beauty. All of our tiles are licensed to comply with University trademark agreements.
Tile Size
Tile sizes are designated in nominal sizes of 4” x 4” and 4” x 8”. The actual tile size is 3/16” less then the nominal size, to allow installation with a 3/16” grout space. Thus a 4 x 4 tile is actually 3 13/16”x 3 13/16”. The tiles are sized this way so that when they are designed in a grouping, such as a backsplash, the layout can be done in whole inches. So easy for designing! All tiles are 5/8” thick.
Field Tile and Trim
Field tile and architectural moldings are available in standard sizes to match the specific school colors. The finish is the same as the logo tile. The thickness is 5/8”. Please inquire about sizes required for your design.
Uses
Our tiles are designed to be beautiful as an individual tile. They also can be used in multiples for backsplashes, floors, fireplaces, showers, wall quilts and framed tile designs. They are suitable for wet conditions, but are not guaranteed for outdoor use in climates that vary in temperatures of more then 60 degrees.
Design Services
Our design staff is available to assist you with ideas for your own collegiate tile creation. Using the variety of field tile sizes with logo tiles, a beautiful piece of art can be made that will be personal and unique. We can help you with ideas and sketches for backsplashes, wall art and table tops, just to mention a few. We are also able to calculate the number of tiles needed for your creation if you are installing them yourself. There is a nominal fee for this service varying with the scope of the project.
Fundraisers and special events
If your organization is planning a fundraiser for a specific event, or you need custom designed tiles, we can to assist you in the design, manufacturing and distribution of your tile. Since this would be a one time only event there would be design and setup fees along with a minimum production amount.
